Crazy Quilt Love

I have been dreaming about a new look for my bedroom, and would love a crazy quilt like the one pictured above.

Or this one.

Or this.

Or perhaps a neutral colored duvet

with a few of Liane's pillows?

The local consignment shop had a very pretty, very reasonable priced crazy quilt a few months ago but I hesitated and missed it. Oh, well! Another will come my way at some point. I am a firm believer in picturing in your mind what you are looking for or need, and it will appear (within reason--picturing a million dollars does not seem to make materialize in your bank account :P). I am going to dream of quilts and a few other things I would love to stumble across at the thrift shop.

How about you? What are you dreaming about?

Back in Business

DSC_0203
Whew! After two long road trips in as many weeks, I am starting to catch my breath again and am ready to get down to business!

In between trips to the pool and activities with my favorite six year-old, I will be updating At Home With Henry this week. I have already added a few dresses and the AMAZING antique ribbon rosette above. About forty more items (dresses, some super cute jumpsuits and shoes!) will also be in this week.

AND... I have one more project, which I will be announcing and asking for your participation in later this week! It is something that will be fun (and hopefully!) helpful for all of us!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday--ours is HOT!

Pop-Up Sale in NYC this weekend!

I am participating in a pop-up sale in New York this weekend, and am asking some of my blog friends to help spread the word! I won't physically be there, but have sent paintings; rag rugs; felted pear key rings and a hooked wool piece.

After reading my Napa Valley guide on Design*Sponge, Jocelyn Joson (who lives in New York and happens to also have a home in Napa) contacted me so see if I would like to participate in her bi-monthly sales. This weekend will be the first one I have contributed to, and I wish I could be there in person! Having met Jocelyn, I am sure everything will be superb. She is a former Martha Stewart designer with fantastic taste and an amazing eye for detail.

If you are in the area, please stop by to say, "Hello!" to Jocelyn and perhaps do a little shopping!

Big hugs.

One-Piece Swimsuit Roundup

vintage 1950s jantzen swimwuit
I am so in love with my deadstock 1950s Jantzen swimsuit (geez, can you tell? I have been gushing over it all day!) from Meow Vintage in Long Beach, CA.

I had been looking at one-pieces for a few weeks in search of something to wear to the public pool with Henry before I stumbled upon this one. Here are some of my favorites:

Absinthe Art Nouveau Inspired One Piece Swimsuit

Biarritz Strapless Maillot

Submerged Watercolor Maillot

Point One Piece Swimsuit--Black and White Curves

Do you have any favorites for this summer?

We went to the first wedding of the summer last night and I won't lie: I have been moving S-L-O-W-L-Y all. day. Like, **really slowly**.

I had fallen in love with this necklace made by Rubyellen a few weeks ago, and decided to make something similar to wear with my purple dress.

Here is the only photo I have been able to snag off Facebook so far of the necklace and dress in action. Obviously poor quality (and heavily cropped!), but you get the idea. If any better photos surface I will share!

P.S. Yes! Those are shoulder pads. :)

I found SO many cute vintage dresses this morning! Reopening At Home With Henry Vintage has given me such a creative boost and I am loving every minute of it.

Where are you getting creative boosts these days?
