While thumbing through the latest issue of Interweave Crochet Magazine I stumbled across a familiar face! Gabriel's parents were friends with my parents when we were young, and he now lives in Portland, Oregon and is the Executive Chef at Le Pigeon. One of his coworkers, Jo Hamilton, makes these crocheted portraits, and they are gorgeous.
Seeing these really makes me want to experiment even more with crochet. The possibilities are endless!

Speaking of randomly stumbling across familiar faces, one of Jo's crocheted portraits is of my brother (a former Pigeon employee)! I agree, the portraits are amazing. And the world? Small.
p.s. I have officially de-lurked with this comment.
