Two random things...
1. I am bummed that my camera is holding my photos hostage and I couldn't participate in Vanessa Valencia's Second Annual Mad Tea Party yesterday. :( Please visit her blog to see her fun post and a list of the other participants.
2. I am so happy to have been asked by Jamie to be a guest blogger this week while she is away. You can read my post today and be sure to check in all week for other great guests!
Hugs.
I just had some prints made of these photos for my studio (photos once I frame them--promise!). They turned out so well that I thought you might like them, too, and added some to the the handmade shop. They are offered both individually and as a set.
In other news, the Poppytalk Handmade Market had some technical difficulties last week and after much hard work by Jan and Earl is now back online! Thank you both so much for all of your hard work to get the website up and running again. Everything looks great!

This weekend between barbecues and swimming with Henry and breakfast with Dad and riding around in the roadster, I managed to...
FINALLY start making some summer clothes for myself
find this little apron at a local antique shop
and experiment with zippered leather pockets
Now it's time to get to all of the cleaning that didn't get done and start work on a few custom orders. What did you do this weekend?

I don't remember where I first stumbled upon it, but I am in love with Woodroots on Etsy. The shop announcement states, "i do love the makie makie handmade way, my life is by hand stitch & brush as I am living it." What is not to love about that proclamation? And the bags, pillows and wallhangings speak for themselves...
You can see more of these beautiful handmade items in her shop.

The new Poppytalk Handmade Market, "Here Comes the Sun," opens in the morning, and my table is ready to go! I made some little magnets with the peony photos from a few days ago and have just added them to the shop.
These were fun and I am already planning some more designs, along with stickers...
Stacey B.--you won the giveaway! Email me your address and a package will be in the mail soon.

Holy, update!
Both the the handmade shop and the the vintage shop were just updated. I feel like shop updates are all I have been talking about lately, but I am getting ready to participate in my very first Poppytalk Handmade Market (starting Monday!!) and I have been working hard to get the shops full.
Here are the new items in the vintage shop...
Josh like this so we decided to keep it...
Now for the handmade shop...
Totes, of course!
And bracelets!
Kind of girly, kind of rough-and-tumble. Just how I like things!
I actually have some more things to add to both shops, but Henry just tied my measuring tape to the back of my chair and is trying to pull me away from the computer. I guess it's time for a break!
As a huge thank you for reading, let's do a FRIDAY FREEBIE. Leave a comment on this post and your name will be entered to win a special surprise! Please make sure to include your email address if I can not find it through your profile.

Candace Todd, of the wonderful Sparkle Power!, has started a new series on her blog called Yo Mamma! and I am honored to be the first to have been interviewed! I think this is a great idea and am excited to read all of the other interviews she has lined up. Thank you, Candace!
Pokie is really excited for me. Can't you tell?

The two bags above and the brown one in the post below were just added to the handmade shop. This pile is cut out and ready to be sewn up...
I also have some GORGEOUS printed linen--enough for two bags--that I am super excited about!
I am also super excited about this...
from Jamie's shop. I snagged this, but there are other cute ones!
Speaking of cute embroidery, how amazing is this from katie.cupcake?
So... I think I love it.
I came across a whole bunch of leather remnants today... Some of the pieces are tiny (perfect to make patches!) and some are big enough for tote bags. I made this one today:
The interior is a vintage sugar sack, and the handmade heart shaped doily (!) and madras print cotton trim are thrifted. There will be a bunch of these bags in the shop at the end of the week.
